I just had a quick question. About 3 months ago I was stopped at a red light in my 05 ford escape and it wouldn't go anywhere. The engine would turn over but when you put it in gear it wouldn't work. I had it towed ultimately to a transmission place and they said it had to be rebuilt.
So then my Husband and I decided we just wanted to buy a new vehicle since this car has 150,000 miles on it. So we did, and then we went to the transmission shop to arrange getting it towed to our house when the guy said oh it is driving now.
Since then (Nov 16) I have been driving it occasionally and it works fine, no issues at all. There is no light on the dash or anything.
Before I decide if I indeed want to get rid of this one or an older car I would like to know if it is possible that it just randomly started working again and therefore it might go out again.... or if they possibly fixed whatever minor problem there could have been but told me it needed a rebuild.
Also, if I took it to a different transmission place, is there a diagnostics system that could tell them if something was wrong even though it is driving fine.
Thanks, just wanted some advice
